Église Saint-Étienne du Mont

Église Saint-Étienne du Mont

Perhaps one of my favorite churches in Paris,
and I discover a new detail with every visit.

Creperie - Mammy Gateaux

Provins

There are more than a few creperies in Provins,
but this one had the most charming entrance.

Église Saint-Quiriace

Église Saint-Quiriace

This church in the small town of Provins, just beyond Paris,
was founded early in the 11th century.
The town is divided into an Upper Town and a Lower Town,
respectively called the Châtel (Castle) and the Val (Valley).
This church sits in its elevated position in the upper town,
and although it has never been completed it is worthy of a visit.

thé pour deux

Tea for Two

You may not be able to stay in a Five-Star Paris hotel,
but you can feel just as luxurious having afternoon tea
lounging on butter-soft leather couches.

(Order a selection of macarons, too)

Avenue de la Grande-Armée

Looking down from Arc de Triomphe
the Paris skyline looks as if you could
just reach out and touch it.

It is a walking distance of 5.2km,
not as close as it seems.

The expression is
one of surprise?

Or perhaps suspicion?

Des acrobates - Café de la Paix

Acrobat chairs
at Café de la Paix

Quite often the terrace seating is stacked
but these two chairs were giving a performance.

Église Notre Dame des Champs

Église Notre Dame des Champs

Constructed between 1867 and 1876 in the Romanesque style,
the church site has a storied history.
From a Roman temple, a vineyard, a
place of pilgrimage, a monastery,
this church is now an active parish.

La saison des pluies!

It was raining cats and dogs
for several days continuously,
but nothing like Paris is seeing now!

The flood waters on June 2nd caused many closures
and rescues: the Louvre, Métro station Saint-Michel,
RER C Line, Musée D'Orsay, and more...
